Questions
Zip questions, answered.
Zip is a connect-the-dots-meets-Hamiltonian-path puzzle. You draw a single continuous line on a grid that touches every cell exactly once and passes through the numbered dots in order — 1, then 2, then 3, and so on, ending on the highest number.
Press on the cell labelled 1 to start drawing. Drag your finger or mouse across adjacent cells to extend the line. Move back over the previous cell to undo a step. You win when your line covers every cell on the board with the numbers visited in increasing order.
Move only horizontally or vertically — never diagonally. You cannot cross or revisit a cell you have already drawn through. Numbered cells must be entered in numerical order, so the line can only touch dot 2 once it has already passed through dot 1, and so on.
Easy is a 5×5 board with four checkpoints. Medium is 6×6 with five, Hard is 7×7 with six, and Expert is 8×8 with eight. Larger boards and more dots leave fewer valid path shapes, so the deduction work goes up sharply.
Start by sketching the rough route between consecutive numbers in your head — the line has to cover every cell, so dead-end corners are usually visited near the ends. Watch for cells with only two unvisited neighbours: the line is forced to enter and exit through them, which fixes part of the path.
Yes. A fresh random puzzle is generated every time you change difficulty or hit "New puzzle." There is no daily limit and no streak counter — solve as many as you like.
Yes. Touch the start dot and drag to draw. The board stops scrolling while you're drawing so the line follows your finger smoothly.
Drag back over the cell you just came from to retract the line one step. You can keep retreating all the way to the start. The Reset button on the toolbar wipes the line entirely so you can start fresh on the same puzzle.
