About the gameHow Recall works,
How Recall works,
in short.
- Step 01
Watch the tiles flash.
A few tiles light up blue, all at once, and hold for a moment before hiding again. Level one flashes three tiles; every level after adds one more, on a board that grows up to 7×7.
- Step 02
Tap every tile that lit up.
Once the tiles hide, tap them back from memory, in any order. A correct tap stays green; a wrong tap flashes red and counts a miss — three misses in one level fails it.
- Step 03
Spend lives, climb levels.
A failed level shows the tiles you missed in peach, costs one of your three lives, and replays with a fresh pattern. Lose all three and the run ends — your score is the highest level you completed.
Questions
Recall questions, answered.
Recall is a visual pattern memory test, in the spirit of the classic memory-grid benchmarks. A set of tiles flashes on a grid, hides, and you tap every one back from memory. Each level adds a tile, so the pattern keeps stretching your visual memory a little further.
Press Start, then watch closely: after a short beat, a few tiles light up blue together, hold for a moment, and hide. Tap every tile that lit up, in any order — a correct tap stays green. Find them all and the next level begins with one more tile.
Level one flashes three tiles on a 3×3 board. Every level adds one tile, and the board steps up through 4×4, 5×5 and 6×6 to 7×7, so the lit tiles never fill more than about forty percent of the grid. Patterns cap at eighteen tiles on the 7×7 board.
The tile flashes red and the tap counts as a miss for that level. Tapping the same wrong tile again is ignored rather than punished twice. Three distinct misses in one level fail it.
You have three lives per run, shown as hearts in the toolbar. Failing a level reveals the tiles you missed in peach, costs one life, and replays the same level number. When the last heart goes, the run is over.
No. A replayed level deals a brand-new random pattern of the same size, so you cannot clear a level by elimination — every attempt is a fresh memorisation.
Your score is the highest level you fully completed — fail out on level six and you score five. Your best score is saved on this device only; there is no account and no leaderboard.
Yes. The grid scales to your screen and the tiles stay comfortable tap targets even at 7×7. Nothing to install — it plays in the browser, and a run takes only a few minutes.
