Easier to find your way around
Highlights
- The top bar now links to All games and Request a game on wider screens, and has a menu on phones and tablets with every category, Surprise me and Request a game
- The top bar's button now drops you into a random game, instead of scrolling to the list the main button already scrolls to
- The home page has one-click links to each kind of game right under the main buttons
- Today's puzzle, trending games, the most played, the newest and your picks now share one strip at the top of the home page, so the full game list starts much sooner
- Request a game is now in search: it shows up when you open search, and when a search only finds near misses you can ask for that game in one click
- The home page, the full games list and each category page offer a link to request a game
- Categories now go by the same names everywhere, like Word games and Logic puzzles
Fixes
- The full games list and the category pages now open on their heading, with the ad placed under the introduction instead of above it
- Removed the thin loading bar along the top of the page when moving between pages
5.7.0
Share any game
Highlights
- Every game's end screen now has a share button that sends the game's link along with your result
- Word Groups shares a grid of coloured squares showing how your guesses went, without giving away a single word
- Queen Zones and Mini Crossword share your time and how many hints or reveals you used
- Links to a game now preview with a wide card showing the game's art, name and one-line description, so they look right in chats and on social networks
5.6.0
A strategy guide for every game
Highlights
- Adds a strategy guide to every game page, below the questions: openings, core techniques, a worked example on the real board, common mistakes and how to practise
- Game addresses now match game names, so Word Guess lives at
/games/word-guessand Four in a Row at/games/four-in-a-row. Old links redirect, and your progress, recent games and popularity counts carry over
Fixes
- Corrects the difficulty details in the Unblock, Hex and Bubble Shooter questions to match how the games actually play
- The Quad Words keyboard answer now describes the four-corner key colours, and Theme Words names the spangram's colour consistently
- Arrows Escape no longer calls its generated boards hand-crafted
5.5.2
Fixes
- The contact email across the site is now [email protected]
5.5.1
Fixes
- The about page no longer says the site is already paid for by ads — ads aren't live yet, so for now the site is paid for out of pocket
5.5.0
Find your next favourite
Highlights
- A new Find your next favourite section on the home page, just under the welcome: see what's trending this week, the all-time most played games, the newest arrivals, and — once you've played a few — games you haven't tried yet that are like the ones you play.
- The games under Today's puzzle now show what's trending this week when you come back, instead of the same three picks every time.
- Sort the games by Popular, on the home page and in the all games list, to see the most played ones first in every category.
- To know what's popular, opening a game now adds one to that game's count. Only the game's name is sent — no cookie, no ID, nothing that links your visits together. The privacy page explains it.
